Reflections of Mother Nature

Siddhesh, in many of his artistic pursuits created magnificent art pieces influenced by flora and fauna around him. He adopted the modern form of art and extensively featured contemporary issues. Presenting here his work inspired from different shades of mother nature.

Parakeet

Siddhesh found this unique shaped stone on Sahasradhara road, Dehradun, Uttarakhand in India. His imagination took flight with a colorful Parakeet and a pebble found a new life in his artform.


Keen eyes

The stone has natural undulations which are highlighted to form the beak, the neck and the body form of the Parakeet.

This stone is from Srinagar, Uttarakhand and was found in 1986. Siddhesh with his brush inked this stone outlining an aerial view of a village and its fields.



Siddhesh's works of art reflected the sensitivity of a poet. He was upset by the increasing exodus from villages to cities, where the web of development usurped the simplicity and poise in human life.

'The hills are my home'.

Siddhesh had a unique bond with the Himalayas and hills of Uttarakhand. 


Perfect Reflection

A snow peak mountain and its perfect shadow in a lake are common sights in the Himalayas. Siddhesh captured in this canvas a memory of pristine lake and his delight.

Siddhesh's concern for Environment ranged from preservation to restoration. After Uttarakashi devastation cloudbursts became a matter of concern.

This stone is from Dhani Ram Marg, Kotdwara, Uttarakhand and found in 1978. 


Siddhesh was mesmerised by Mount Fuji in Japan. 

He mentioned how he travelled in his dreams upto the serene peak of Mount Fuji.

Creatures of the Earth

To the naked eye it was nothing but a useless pebble or a broken branch. Siddhesh could spot a tiger, a bird or a sea world dweller in inanimate objects like a twig or a stone. Unveiling some of his classic pieces for you to experience 'art meeting the eye'.   

Ostrich

A flightless bird known for its size and unsophisticated walk. Siddhesh made Ostrich a part of his collection, a fragile piece from nature which enriched his work.

The perfect white patch in the shape of a fish caught Siddhesh's attention and he touched it up slightly with his brush. The rest of the stone remains in its natural state appearing like waves in water. 


This stone presented its contours as a scenic underwater site, as if showcasing its life in a lagoon

Stone found in 1976 from Railway Tracks in Kotdwara, India. This stone was uniquely poised to be painted as a Pigeon in flight, as if fossilised in stone.

This colourful drift wood is 6cm in diameter in the middle and as thin as 1.5cm towards its tail end. A fragile yet a majestic bird in flight!
