The essence of 'scale-modelling' is after all in doing it all by yourself; learning new techniques and more importantly taking pride in having built something on your own. In the DIY Shed at NEGR, children are taught unique tricks to make miniature objects with several materials and tools.

Interactive switches
NeverEnuf Garden Railway has over 50 interactive stations. From stopping a Candy Train to pick a few goodies to extinguishing a fire in a building, and even bringing an Orangutan to life in the zoo, these automated stations engage the visitors and help share the joys of rail modelling.

Educative posters
There are several posters that have information on interesting topics like scale and gauge, kit-making, scratch-building, types of bridges, etc. that would fascinate not just the kids, but even the adults.
Spatial learning
The "RC City" with its working traffic lights, remote controlled boats and marked streets is a fertile zone to teach a few road driving skills.
The 'Jinx'
The Jinx is a building with a propensity to go up in smoke, giving all an opportunity to learn a few fire fighting skills and remain calm!
The 'candy' station
A mack lugs two wagons full of candies. Always loaded, this train is the most popular amongst the little visitors who are allowed to dig their hands in and gorge on candies.

Remote-controlled scratch built vesselsNeverenuf Garden Railway
The NeverEnuf harbour has several remote controlled, scratchbuilt vessels which work on 2.4ghz frequency. The visitors can navigate them and discover more about the hobby of "ship-building"
