2. Nasi Goreng

Nasi goreng  refers to "fried rice" in Bahasa Indonesia. The comfort dish known throughout Indonesia, it can be enjoyed in simple versions from a tin plate at a roadside food stall, eaten on porcelain in restaurants, or collected from the buffet tables.

3. Satay

Satay or sate in Bahasa Indonesia is a dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a peanut sauce. Indonesian satay is often served with kecap manis – a sweet soy sauce, and is often accompanied with lontong, a type of rice cake.

4. Gado-gado

Gado-gado is an Indonesian salad of raw, slightly boiled, blanched or steamed vegetables and hard-boiled eggs, boiled potato, fried tofu and tempeh, and lontong (rice wrapped in a banana leaf), served with a peanut sauce dressing and kerupuk.
