This is Quilt 007 of 042 in the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt collection, created during the late 1980's and early 1990's before there was effective treatment for people living with HIV.

Roel was the partner of John Bus, see below, and died peacefully a year after John.

John Bus

John Bus and Roel Arisz lived in Amsterdam and died within a year of each other. Their panels were made by their friend Scott from Edinburgh, a frequent visitor to Amsterdam.
