While growing up in New York City, Delsarte was surrounded by music including jazz, opera, musicals, and blues. These influences, along with his interest in world culture, served as an inspiration for his art.

Here is Delsarte's interpretation of the entrance to Hammonds House Museum, a Victorian Home built in 1857, and lovingly restored by its former owner, Dr. Otis Hammonds.
