The National Pharmacy Association has, over the years, joined efforts to preserve the movable and immovable heritage of national and international pharmacies, which were in danger of disappearing.
Islamic Pharmacy
This Pharmacy existed inside one of the Damascus Palaces in the 19th century. It was used as teaching center and also as a pharmacy.
Barbosa Pharmacy
Pharmacy Barbosa belonged to the Monastery of Paço de Sousa and functioned as a conventual apothecary. The founder of the Pharmacy, Manuel Rodrigues Barbosa, opened the Pharmacy in the village of Paço de Sousa in 1834.
Pacheco Pereira Pharmacy
Founded in 1880, it consists in two different areas and from different periods: the most recent is the serving area, and the other is the laboratory. The wooden service counter prevented customers from going to the place where the medicines were prepared.
Liberal Pharmacy
Founded on August 11 of 1890, it was established on Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon. The great novelty of this Pharmacy is to have an associated Laboratory, and the medicine is prepared only in that space.
Chinese Pharmacy (Tai Ning Tong)
This is an authentic traditional Chinese pharmacy from Macau, dating from the end of the 19th century, which operated from that time until 1998, on Rua 5 de Outubro.
Estácio Pharmacy
This Pharmacy was located at Rua Sá da Bandeira in Porto. It owes its name to Emílio Faria Estácio (1854-1919), a pharmacist at the University of Coimbra.
