Hamlet accompanied by the Heads (2024)East of Art Foundation

This time in a completely different, post-industrial and somewhat dark space, the Heads and the monumental Hamlet and Macbeth gained yet another interpretive sense.

The Heads (2024)East of Art Foundation

The sculptures in the Heads series are smoothly elaborated and refined. The eye sockets and ear holes of the skulls have varied shapes and depths, contrasting the colors of the patinas used: from bright to deep reds, browns and blacks.

The forms of the Heads vary significantly, some are more compact, massive, others - light, openwork. Symmetrical incisions, slits of the Heads, destruction of matter intensify the viewer's impression of unease in contact with these specific portraits.

Macbeth surrounded by Heads and Reliefs (2024)East of Art Foundation

Hamlet (2024)East of Art Foundation

Inspired by literature "Hamlet" and "Macbeth" are different, with expressive texture of lines and gouges. Fixed on a frame of wire, put on with plaster and welded from sheet metal elements.

The deformed, bent figure of "Hamlet" makes it a partially abstract work, creating an impression of unreality of the seated figure.

Macbeth (2024)East of Art Foundation

In turn, the kneeling figure of ,,Macbeth" is in Beksinski's performance - a tragic, lost figure, with his hands dramatically stretched upwards.
