A pavilion theme 

This pavilion’s courtyard is reminiscent of a small garden in a house, a place where you can relax near nature. On the moss garden, Yang Byeongyong has placed a short-legged table. The work upon the table is a moon jar by Shin Gyeonggyun.

A cozy bedroom with craftworks. The piece above the bed is a signature work by Baek Jin. Different ceramic fragments were attached or layered upon a circular canvas. It is highlighted with a remarkable sense of rhythm. The bedding and small items are all by Yim Seoyun.

Lee Heonjung’s chair is solid even at a glance. With ceramic and concrete, the industrial and rough touches were harmonized in Lee’s works, which are so popular that international collectors including Elton John have recognized their value.

The beauty of crafts lies in that you can feel the breath, attitude, and touch of the creator. When feeling that energy, the viewer feels calm, as if in meditation.

Wooden furniture provides a house with a bright and warm atmosphere. During the Joseon Dynasty, scholars also brought in other pieces of furniture, including seoan (a small wooden table for reading) and sabangtakja (a rectangular table that displays stationery), in their rooms.

A square-shaped cushion filled with cotton. The well-padded cushions make us feel pleasant. These are by Yim Seoyoon, who runs a textile craft workshop. Yim presents a variety of works, including bedding sets and cushions using linen and cotton cloth.
