Terra Comunal contains all three core components of MAI
At SESC Pompeia, MAI is presenting the Abramovic Method; a series of talks with Abramovic; In Between Space, functioned as a hub for artists, researchers, and the general public to share ideas and expand their knowledge about performance and immaterial art, and eight Brazilian artists who will perform during the duration of the exhibition.

Interviews were conducted with individuals who had just completed the exercises. Participants were asked to close their eyes as they recalled their experiences.
MAI Presents
Eight Brazilian performance artists will premiere new works, five performing daily from 1pm-9pm during the two-month exhibition period. The other three artists will present site-specific interventions. Prior to the exhibition, the artists participated in a "Cleaning the House," workshop. Over the course of five days, they prepared for the long durational performances using exercises that develop each performer’s resistance, concentration, self-control, and willpower.
