The Golden Gate National Park
The Golden Gate National Park borders the magnificent Maloti Mountains, which dominate its landscape. It is renowned for its impressive sandstone features which rise up from the valley. The park holds many secrets; the oldest dinosaur embryos ever discovered were found at Golden Gate, fossilised pre-historic animal remains have been unearthed and San rock paintings uncovered.

The Pilanesberg National Park
Set in the eroded remains of an ancient volcano, the Pilanesberg offers a dramatic landscape which supports a wide variety of plants, animals and birds. The park contains all of the "Big 5" as well as African wild dogs, brown hyenas (or ‘strandwolf’ in Afrikaans) and sable antelope – all 3 of which are endangered.

The Mountain Zebra National Park
Set in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province, the establishment of the Mountain Zebra National Park has played a key role in saving the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra who can now be seen roaming the hills of the park. These are not the only animals in the park however, it also contains lion, black wildebeest, falcons and cheetahs.
