Prometheus (21th Century) by Sofia GomesVirtual Museum of Lusophony
The Virtual Museum of Lusophony was conceived in 2017 as a project of the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho located in Braga (Portugal) as a platform for artistic, cultural and academic cooperation within the sciences. It encompasses the physical and virtual space of the Portuguese language and its "diasporas", which extend from Galiza to Macau.
Its mission is to promote the knowledge of Lusophone countries, of its numerous forms of artistic and cultural expression, bringing them together, preserving them and sharing them globally.
Welcoming (21th Century) by Sofia GomesVirtual Museum of Lusophony
It is an open space intended as a mechanism which invites the active participation of citizens, making records available, commenting on collections and building collective memory. Its purpose is to facilitate the acknowledgement and critical discussion of the extent to which the "colonial past" influences current intercultural relations, and to foster interaction and cooperation between countries with Portuguese as an official language.
