Public Library of Brasilia: renovations and reopening

The Public Library of Brasilia, which is located in an affluent area of the capital at EQS 312/313, is a hugely important cultural institution, serving the local community and the residents of the surrounding regions. 

Having been open for almost 30 years, both the furnishings and the space itself were starting to show signs of wear and tear and the local community demanded improvements. Renovation works were needed. 

Civil servants, local residents, and volunteers organized a task force, working together so that the library could reopen as quickly as possible.

The library has a wide and up-to-date book collection, with around 20,000 items available for loan and on-site reference. 

The Telecenter is an interactive area for internet access, video lessons, and social media. It is also intended to be used for any courses and talks offered by the library as part of its community continuing training program. 

Children also have their own space at the Public Library of Brasilia. With the decor and furnishings set up just for them, the Children's Area has its own collection of comics, games, and books.

With its comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, the reading garden is one of the most unusual features at the Public Library of Brasilia. It is an outside space, surrounded by plants and trees, where groups can gather around the desks to socialize and study together. The library also uses the area for different kinds of events.
