On January 21, 1966, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the National People's Republic of Mongolia issued decision No. 2 to establish a museum of the Military Academy, marking the inauguration of the "Military Museum".
The museum houses over 9,900 collections, which are diversified and preserved in 13 different types of storage. With four permanent exhibition halls, temporary exhibition halls, and outdoor weapons and technical demonstrations, the museum provides cultural services and implements educational and cognitive programs. It also aims to promote the prosperous historical path of the Mongolian military to a vast audience of over 20,000 visitors annually.

Outdoor exhibits
The museum displays artifacts from the Khalkh Gol’s battle in 1939 and the Liberation War of 1945 in open-air exhibitions.

Original models of weapons and equipment used in these events are immortalized, along with Air Force fighter helicopter and anti-aircraft weapons known as the "Eternal Sky Guard".

The ancient history hall
The Ancient History hall showcases a collection of exhibits dating from the Upper Stone Age to the period of Manchu rule. The hall features many rare and fascinating artifacts, including bronze helmets, knives, and axes from the 9th-7th centuries BC.

Additionally, visitors can behold leather belts adorned with bronze military equipment from the Hun Dynasty, bullet casing intended for various purposes, personal protective equipment, and military coats of the guard from the 16th-17th centuries.

The modern history hall
The exhibition hall offers a comprehensive overview of the Mongolian Armed Forces from 1911 to the present day. It features a wide range of items such as military uniforms, weapons, archive materials documents, photographs, and modern displays.
