The silverware collection of Peleş National Museum
The silverware collection of Peleş National Museum consists of approximately 5500 items of outstanding artistic and documentary value. These items belonged to the kings and queens of Romania and other members of the Romanian royal house, or their contemporary personalities. The core of the collection was created by King Carol I, who purchased the pieces from different workshops in Europe, Asia and the United States. The Kingʼs passion for collecting art pieces was pursued by his descendants.

Some of the items have entered the royal patrimony as gifts for the members of the Royal house of Romania, to mark important moments in their life.
They were offered for anniversaries, births, marriages, commemorations or to celebrate defining events in the Romanian history.

Royal orders were also made to major workshops in Germany, England, France, Austria, Sweden, Italy, Russia, Romania.
