Tula has always been known in Russia for its samovars and pryaniks, while local armourers produced guns, rifles, pistols, tanks and aircraft for all the wars that Russia has fought in the past 200 years. The city’s range of activities is no longer limited to indulging your sweet tooth or going to the museum.

There are curated exhibits to attend, contemporary cuisine to savour and fresh local products to buy just one hour’s ride from Tula or three hours’ from Moscow.

Market Concept

When conceiving Privoz, its designers had one thing in mind, and that was to restore the century-long pattern of going to the market that sees people frequent the sellers they have been buying from for yeas and know very well, and therefore have no trouble telling who has the best mutton, tvorog or pickled cucumbers.

The quality of its produce has helped Privoz in the Best Retail Market category at the 2019 Russian Commerce contest.

The futuristic combination of two glass buildings with panoramic windows and wooden inlays is home to traditional stalls with farmers selling their produce.

The designers wanted to keep the place compact. After all, it offers space to vendors selling only highest-quality products. Sellers are strictly selected. The overarching ambition - to support farmers and local producers, which explains a great number of family shops at Privoz.
