Small changes in our daily lives that we are unaware of can become the components of a revolution, and we as individuals are actually making choices constantly to respond to or reject changes happening every day. These choices work to solve problems caused by changes and while they also help to paint pictures of the future.

DREAMERS. ONGwangju Design Biennale

Sometimes on the horizon of change, we encounter big changes which can be in the form of a revolution that no one can avoid. COVID-19 in 2021 is requiring humanity to find answers and particularly values that can lead to more optimism for the future and better ways to coexist with each other in this time of limited face-to-face interaction.

FRAGRANCE WITH PLANET

FRAGRANCE WITH PLANET of FRA422 (Fra FourTwoTwo) shows the role of design with the ability to solve problems. Starting with ‘ls nostalgia justified (Is a perfume fair?)’ at the beginning, you will learn how many plants are needed to make just 1g of single essential oil, why rosewood, sandalwood, chrysanthemum, and cypress are endangered species, and why the frankincense tree is covered with scars and is dying.

FRAGRANCE WITH PLANETGwangju Design Biennale

422 CODE is a design that reveals the uncomfortable truth that perfume, which has been promoted with fantastic images, has harmed nature, and presents standardized systems and usability for sustainable perfumes as design.

GDB positions the sun as a personified OS between real and virtual space through robotic fragments, MR environments, software, and sensors. It is an OS built with technology that feels like the antithesis of nature, but it contains the artist’s idea that the ultimately evolution will resemble nature.
