Unique in the Centre-Val de Loire region, the Opéra de Tours is a real "opera house" that creates, produces and broadcasts shows. It has workshops for costumes, construction (carpentry, locksmith, painting) and accessories.

Creative process
When a stage project is born, the director and his team create costumes, decor, lights and more. The Opera team studies the feasibility of the project from plans, models and brings its technical and artistic expertise.

Tests phase
Many trades come into play for the construction of sets. Carpenter, locksmith, painter and accessories designer work together to create the set designed by the director.

The construction of the sets
In addition to its aesthetic appearance, the decor should be designed to be as practical and secure as possible. The machinists-constructors carry out tray changes, assemble it, disassemble it, then transport it when the shows are co-produced.

The evening of the show, "dressing" is backstage to prepare the costumes and wigs, make the final alterations, then clean and maintain them.

The costume workshop
The costume team is in charge of making the costumes according to the wishes of the costume designer. The expert buys the materials wanted by the costume designer and makes them according to the preparatory drawing.
