"Jerk 45 lives and works in Paris. He studied graphic arts before teaming up with Stéphane Carricondo and Ned to found 9e Concept, a collective.
Some people craft words into poems, Jerk 45 smiths his everyday universe into a poetic, pregnant and preposterous performance."
The anecdotes that populated his work at the start are still there, in the subjects – which could well have jumped out of a cartoon strip – and in the process. The real world is also there – never hijacked or altered – in his paintings and collages (most often black and white). That world he depicts is usually from 1960s and 1970s newspapers. The characters melt into each other, and the colours and shapes overlap, intermingle and blend.
