Margo Veillon's sketchbooks are full of animals of all sorts. 

Perhaps no aardvarks, but one finds drawings of ants and other insects, birds of all types, household pets, and farm animals.

Creepy crawlies

The artist had an endless fascination for all forms of life, and observed even the smallest of creatures with interest.

As is characteristic for her work, her depiction of these insects is not static, but conveys a sense of movement.

Fauna of Egypt

Veillon documented daily life in Egypt in her art in loving detail. 

Animals are often included in scenes of country life, where humans and animals interact with one another.

Animals around the world

Margo Veillon traveled widely, and visited Ethiopia, South Sudan and Nubia. During her travels, she filled one sketchbook after another with her impressions. 

In this drawing of a monkey in Malakal, South Sudan, the artist studies different poses and angles of the animal.
