Cultivating Year Round Artistic Experiences

This series is one of the most popular presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Each year the Trust curates a season full of the latest Broadway hits, classics, and everything in between. 

As the Trust's most recent venture, this 66-seat theater has gained rising popularity presenting close up magic in an intimate setting. 

Each season this series never fails to impress. Dance companies from all over the world have wowed Pittsburgh audiences. 

These two series cater to younger audiences and their families. Season lineups include multiple eclectic performances that aim to engage and relay thoughtful messages to our young audience members. 

This signature series gives audience members the opportunity to experience the world's finest Broadway artists in an intimate setting. The unique theater design allows guests to order food and beverages while they enjoy the performance. 

The Trust Arts Education Team provides experiences for personal and professional growth through performances, workshops, classes, and other programs that nurture an appreciation and understanding through the arts.

Every Tuesday during the summer the region's finest jazz artists are presented as part of this free series. The performances usually take place outside in Katz Plaza. 

Four visual art galleries are scattered throughout the district. The exhibitions are changed quarterly and commemorated with the Quarterly Gallery Crawl events. 

The Cultural District is home to many public art pieces. Take a stroll around downtown and explore the art scattered throughout the urban landscape. 

Each quarter of the year the Trust hosts a Gallery Crawl to launch the changing of the visual art exhibitions in each gallery. The crawls are completely free and focus on highlighting artists from under represented communities. 

The Festival begins on the first Friday in June and takes place at the confluence of Pittsburgh’s famed three rivers in Point State Park, throughout picturesque Gateway Center, and in the city’s world-renowned Cultural District.

Three Rivers Arts Festival quickly grew from the “little outdoor art show” cited above to what is today the region’s largest multidisciplinary showcase of visual art and performing arts. 

Founded in 1960 by the Women’s Committee of the Carnegie Museum of Art, Three Rivers Arts Festival has presented, during its vast and varied history, more than 10,000 visual and performing artists and entertained millions of residents and visitors. 

Occurring once every 4-5 years this festival  welcomes U.S., North American, and World Premieres to the Cultural District. 

The combination of theater, public art, and visual art make this festival unforgettable. 

Each Spring the Cultural District springs to life with this festival that is catered to children and their families. National and international artists gather to present their educational and engaging programs. 

The festival also includes interactive public art pieces. 

The public art pieces engage the community and transform underutilized urban spaces within the city.
