Krakow Film Commission
Launched in 2008, the Krakow Film Commission supports film productions in Krakow and Małopolska and helps filmmakers obtain all required documents and permits.

The Krakow Film Commission has a database of hundreds of attractive film sets throughout the voivodeship, helping filmmakers from all over the world find the perfect interiors and outdoor settings.

Associated companies
The Krakow Film Commission also has a database of companies in the audiovisual sector, including animators, services, production and postproduction, directors, screenwriters, operators, sound and light engineers, composers and editors.
Krakow Film Fund and the Małopolska Short Film Fund
The Krakow Film Fund hosts two competitions financed from the budget of the Municipal Commune of Krakow and the Małopolska Voivodeship, aiming to join forces to produce and coproduce films linked with Krakow and Małopolska.

KBF coproductions
Over the years, KBF has provided financial support to over 80 feature films, documentaries and animations, many of which went on to win awards at Polish and international festivals.
M. Koszałka’s Red Spider, M. Szumowska’s Mug, A. Holland’s Mr. Jones, Ł. Grzegorzek’s A Coach’s Daughter, M. Pieprzyca’s Icarus. The Legend of Mietek Kosz and W. Smarzowski’s The Mighty Angel, Clergy and The Wedding are some of KBF’s most successful coproductions.

The Krakow Film Commission supports Krakow’s most important festivals celebrating the industry, including Mastercard Off Camera and the Krakow Film Festival, which include events bringing together the film and publishing industries (Word2Picture).

The Krakow Film Commission is also involved in educational projects and workshops for representatives of the audiovisual industry from Poland and abroad.
The annual international workshops Film Spring Open aim to help up-and-coming artists from all over the globe to develop their ideas under the guidance of experts in the field.
Every summer, the Krakow Film Commission joins forces with the Etiuda & Anima Foundation for the Promotion of Artistic, Film and Audiovisual Culture to host film screenings and workshops for kids and adults as part of the Krakow Summer Animation Days.

The Foundation also hosts outdoor film screenings throughout Krakow. In 2022, the cycle Cinema on the Beach presented films for children and adults at the Bagry Reservoir on sunny summer weekends.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, KBF, the City of Krakow and the Sports Infrastructure Board in Krakow reached for the American tradition of drive-in cinema to host screenings at the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium.

The Krakow Film Commission, the Władysław Ślesicki Film Foundation and the Krakow Film Festival co-host DOC LAB POLAND – the main project focusing on the development, promotion and presentation of documentaries in the country, and the associated CEDOK Market.

Cinema for climate
In 2021, the Krakow Film Commission became involved with the project Cinema for climate aiming to introduce the principles of sustainable development to the audiovisual industry.

One of the first outcomes of the project was the Agreement on green audiovisual production – Film for climate, with signatories including KBF and the Krakow Film Commission.
