...and more than 6 million people do. ATL, as we call it, is a mashup of many Fortune 500 companies, the world’s busiest airport, the highest number of colleges and universities in the US, a thriving creative community, and significant cultural diversity.

But it’s Atlanta’s position at the intersection of the tech startup, creative community and a talented, racially diverse population that ignites the spark of true innovation. Such a landscape has produced a rather unique and exciting startup scene. 

Tricia Whitlock helped Georgia State University and TechSquare Labs expand their entrepreneurial efforts and kickstarted Hypepotamus as a publication - now the largest tech blog in the Southeast. 

Adam Harrell jump started Startup Atlanta, a community non-profit focused on connecting, growing and promoting the Metro Atlanta Startup Ecosystem.

Sig Mosley is the managing partner of Mosley Ventures, a venture fund investing in early stage technology startups in the Southeast. Widely regarded as the “Godfather of Angel Investing,” Sig has been the most prolific Southeast investor in 120 startups with 82 liquidity events. 

Cummings + Lightburn founded Atlanta Tech Village - the United States’ 4th largest tech hub - creating a significant inflection point for the city.  David is a tech entrepreneur who has founded 10 companies employing thousands of people, including Pardot, SalesLoft and Terminus.

Paul is a technology entrepreneur and investor (TechSquare Labs, Pindrop). Ryan is CEO and co-founder of The Gathering Spot, which has redefined networking and cultivated a hub for local executives, creatives and tastemakers.

Christy Brown serves as President and CEO of Launchpad2x, an organization dedicated to helping women entrepreneurs scale startups and rise in business.

Jarrett Hines of Music Tech Works and Roy Scott of Healthy Hip Hop are doing amazing work in the music innovation space. Jarrett’s company Music Tech Works is focused on building simple tools for music licensing. 

Roy’s Healthy Hip Hop is an online platform powered by the arts and social interaction.

Jenn Graham Stokell developed Civic Dinners as an engagement platform that works with companies, organizations, government agencies, foundations and universities to bring people from different backgrounds together for conversations that matter.

And Ryan Johnson’s Cxmmunity and Jakita Thomas’ Pharoah’s Conclave are developing the next generation of diverse eSports leaders. Cxmmunity is the leading esports and video game career program for students of color. 

Pharoah’s Conclave is a tech company that prepares youth for esports careers.
