The Museum Wayang is a museum dedicated to Javanese wayang puppetry, located in Jakarta and facing among other museums the Fatahillah Square
Wayang is a Javanese word used for a theatrical performance with puppets or human dancers. Performances of shadow puppet theatre are accompanied by a gamelan orchestra in Java.

The Wayang kulit, or shadow puppets, are the most famous of the Indonesian wayang. Kulit means skin, and it refers to the leather construction of the puppets.
