Johnny Powers and Jane Jackson learn about the GE Research Laboratory while researching a school assignment about identifying a common trait of inventors - investigating learning for the pure joy of it. Johnny’s older brother Ed, a GE scientist, tours Jane and Johnny through the GE Research Laboratory, where they see the latest research on phosphors, polymers, atomic power, X-rays, metallurgy, ceramics, transistors, and man-made diamonds.
