Through multimedia portraits of residents who have dual citizenship, Fadi Wahbeh investigates one aspect of the diverse characters and multi-faceted perspectives residing within the UAE. Inspired by his own experience of dual citizenship combined with UAE residency, he asks his participants to describe their memories, associations, and dreams for the future as they relate to the two countries to which the participant is connected. The portraits present a clear recognition of country associations through a photographic portrait and a powerful connection to the participants’ voices through the use of audio, while respecting and maintaining the subjects’ anonymity.
