Synopsis

Wallace takes a break from trying to decide on a holiday destination only to find he has no cheese for his crackers. The solution to both problems is a trip to the moon, with dog Gromit, because everybody knows the moon's made of cheese.

A Grand Day Out 30th Anniversary

In 2019 the NFTS and Aardman Animation celebrated the 30th Anniversary of A Grand Day Out and its characters Wallace and Gromit.  The model making students at the NFTS recreated some moments from the film.

Nominations and Awards

In 1991, A Grand Day Out film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, but it lost to the short Creature Comforts, which was also a creation of Nick Park.
