The Taj Museum
This small museum on the western side of the gardens is often overlooked, but gives a good background to the building and its patron, the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

The Kau Ban Mosque
This mosque is found on the western flank of the Taj Mahal itself. The red sandstone walls are covered in rich ornamentation. The tiled floor marks out spaces for 569 individual prayer mats, all facing west towards the holy city of Mecca.
Shah Jahan's Tomb
The sarcophagus of Shah Jahan lies directly underneath the soaring dome of the Taj Mahal.
