We celebrated International Women's Day this week with a Google Doodle celebrating unsung heroines from across the world, which ran alongside an editorial feature that dives deeper into their inspirational lives and actions.

Discover the monumental impact that women have had on art, politics, science, sport and history across the globe in the relaunched Women in Culture project.


In India we celebrated International Women's Day with a special project on the unheard stories of India's women leaders and pioneers.

The Avani Society, Craft Revival Trust, Indian Museum, Kolkata, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, SEWA Hansiba Museum, Worldview Impact Foundation, and Zubaan all launched new imagery and stories to celebrate the day.


British women were also in the spotlight with two new exhibits from the Royal College of Music and Historic England. Meet the women artist and architects who designed some of England's most beautiful buildings and gardens, or check out some of the most inspiring female British musicians.


Step onstage and behind the scenes at Deutsche Oper Berlin with striking imagery from some of their best performances and Street Views of the auditorium, wardrobe and costume studios.
