Family is important, Fear is inevitable

Ellie lost his mother and sisters, and most importantly, his dad. In the concentration camps, he lost hope in everything, and was overcome with fear.

This picture reminds me of Elie's mother and his two sisters when they got separated. They only had each other and were close to their end.
When Elie and his family were taken from their home and town, I feel as if this is how they would look, with sullen looks of despair and fear.
As SS Officers terrorize and break down the residents of concentration camps, this picture represents how unfair they were treated.
When Elie and this community he lived in were taken from their homes, I imagine this is what happened after they had left.
