Vincent/Cezanne 1

Van Gogh's Starry Night is the view from Vincent's room while he was in the hospital. The large Cypress trees in the foreground have been associated with graveyards and mourning.
Mont Sainte-Victoire and Chateau Noir is a landscape painted in Cezannes later years. It, like Starry Night, has dense trees in the foreground and building further away. The yellow building here is that of Chateau Noir. Both Vincent and Cezanne used contrasting warm and cool colors to create a dramatic effect.
