This Renaissance style chateau was built in 1358. It is composed of two attached buildings, the Petit Chateau, and the Grand Chateau. The Grand Chateau was destroyed during the French Revolution and had to be rebuilt. Inside includes one of the finest museums in France for historical paintings.
The One World Trade Center building was built to replace the twin towers after the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. It is a contemporary modern style that was designed by David Childs. Parts of the structure were built using recycled materials. It is the tallest building in New York City.
The Empire State building as completed in 1931. It is an Art Deco style building that was the first building to have more than 100 floors. The building tapers with height from a series of setbacks. It is made up of stainless steel and includes glass-enclosed bridges. Observation decks are included in this structure to give visitors beautiful 360-degree views of New York City.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the third oldest structure in Pisa's Cathedral Square. Bonanno Pisano used the Romanesque architectural style, however, the tower began to tilt during construction. The tilting was caused due to the foundation on the ground being to soft on one side. This brought the construction to a halt for nearly a century. This gave the enough time for the soil to settle and preventing it from collapsing.
The Eiffel Tower was named after Gustave Eiffel. It was his company that designed and built the tower. It was built in 1889 to be the entrance to the 1889 World's Fair. At 1063 feet tall it is the tallest structure in Paris. The foundation is made up of concrete slabs with one side needing more support due to being closer to the Seine River. The tower itself is made of metal.
