Ahşapkari,whose name I gave,is a work of art composed of natural colored wooden pieces.Colored is not used in Ahşapkari.Wooden pieces of different species and colors are generally cut in 6 mm. cubes.The subject is drawn on the wooden counter and the cut pieces are glued to necessary place.White furniture glue is used in the process.For parts like hair,moustache,eyelashes and beard,wooden veneer is used in 6 mm.cords.They are used vertically.After pasting filling varnish is put on the painting and when it dries by using sandpaper it is rubbed.Lastly,clear varnish is put as means of protection.
