I think it is very interesting that Leone Battista Alberti decided to portray himself in profile on copper. This reminds me of Caesar on a roman coin.
This is one of the first portraits, and the first engraved one.
I think this picture is very beautiful. I appreciate how the Artist, Artemisia Gentileschi, is painting in the picture. I also like the angle of the picture. It looks like I could walk in and see her working.
I really appreciate how Rembrandt drew every wrinkle on his face. He doesn't idealize his self-portraits. I think this adds a lot of depth to his pictures.
