What Makes you Different?

What is the Other? The Other is a person or group of people who society looks down upon, viewing them as social outcasts, because they are different from the majority of the population by either ideals or philosophy.

This painting depicts Jesus Christ facing torture by being forced to wear Thorns on his head. The reason Jesus is facing this cruel treatment is because society can not accept him as the son of God.

This statue was looked down upon this statue of a slave. It was not because slavery was wrong, or that it was a women slave. It was because this women was white, while slaves were black.
Forest fires are bad things. That is why America uses propaganda such as depicting their enemies in a inhumane way. Especially the Japanese soldier, he looks like a stereotypical buck tooth monster.

Here in this picture is Hitler and Communism. Now back in WWII The Soviet Union and America worked together to take down Nazism. In this picture the Soviet Union views Hitler as a disfigured human being, because his ideals are disfigured to them.
This piece of propaganda is from Germany during WWII. In this propaganda Germany is displaying what the general term of "Soviet Freedom" is. They view it as slavery, and view the Soviets as cruel and heartless. Ironically, Germany at the time was doing this to the Jews, only worse.

Galileo introduced the theory that the Earth and all the other planets rotate around the Sun, and not the other way around. The church looked down at Galileo because his ideas contradicted their own.

The bear represents the Soviet Union and the Eagle represents America. America and the Soviet Union were against each other because their ideals were polar opposites from each other.

Slavery. I don't think there is anything else to say. Blacks were forced to work against their will for Southern business men, and they are treated this way only because their skin color is different.

Booth just killed Lincoln. Booth did this because he was against Lincoln making the slaves free. Now Booth is running away, while the group of northerners are looking at him like a mad man.

America vs GB in the Revolutionary War, where each side sees the other as the Other. America wants to be independent while GB wants them to be dependent. Their beliefs makes it easy to kill each other
