Erin Cornelius

Christ, King of Kings and High Priest, Unknown, c. 1500, From the collection of: Monastery of St. John the Theologian, Patmos, Greece
I chose to include this particular image because it represents Christ as a more secular being, a king, than as a semi-divine being.
Icon on wood, Andrei and Zaharia, 1745, From the collection of: National Museum of the Romanian Peasant
This icon seems to be of Mary holding baby Jesus. I chose to include this one because it shows her as being quite large compared to her infant son, which could indicate its dedication to her.
Icon on glass, Unknown, 1801/1825, From the collection of: National Museum of the Romanian Peasant
I chose to include this image because it of how it depicts the Last Supper. I really liked that all men are given halos, excepting the one, which is meaningful. I am not sure who the woman (?) near Jesus is.
