Elements and principles of design
I chose this picture because it only has lines in it. The photograph has both Horizontal and Vertical lines. The metal beams making up the building are the lines we see.
I chose this one for line because of the trees. They represent vertical lines. As well as the snake at the bottom of picture because it's a curved line.
I chose this picture because it's an example of implied space. The people standing are making an implied shape of a circle.
I chose this picture for shape because the painting is made up of shapes. The light from the lamp is a geometric shape, since it's triangle.
I chose this picture because it's a very realistic painting of an old man's head. It appears 3D with the shadows.
I chose this picture for form because you can see it actually takes up space and it looks 3D.
I chose this picture because you can see the one-point perspective at the end of the hallway and it creates positive and negative space.
I chose this picture for space because you can see how the valley has fore, middle, and background.
I chose this picture because of the vibrant colors of the city. Overall the the city is filled with cool colors.
I chose this picture for color because the colors in here seemed to be harmonious. They go well together to give the person looking at it, a feeling of springtime.
I chose this picture for texture because you can see the smoothness of the stone and roughness where the stone was chipped away.
I chose this one for texture because of the brushstrokes. The brush strokes are so thick that they created a texture. It looks almost rough.
I chose this for value because of the amount darkness and shadow that is in this photograph. Most of the light is focused on the son's head and the mother's arm.
I chose this picture for value because of it's low contrast. It's not very bright and and quite dull. There isn't a very large difference between it's lights and darks.
I chose this picture for movement because it's looks like the person's arm of the right was moving.
I chose this for Emphasis because the only thing that is the picture is the horses. You can't focus or see anything else.
I chose this for pattern because all of the designs end up making one giant pattern.
I chose this one for balance because the way the people are place makes the picture feel really balanced.
I chose this for unity because of the space that represents life is filled up with people and faces, but they are not all exactly the same so they can be a pattern.
I chose this painting for variety because of the mix of shapes and colors on the painting.
I chose this for proportion because you can see how small the people are compared to the pole beside them.
