Some of the United States of America's greatest historical figures portrayed through paintings, sculptures, and unique pieces; such as commemorative coins. These individuals have truly shaped our culture, history, and political realm through their leadership, intellect, perseverance, optimism, and powerful American spirit. Who would have known mere individuals, many from humble beginnings, would change our society, let alone our world with their tenacity. Are they irreplaceable? Their legacies have become our history.

George Washington was the first President of the United States after the American Revolution ended. He was very instrumental and well respected in helping defeat England.
Thomas Jefferson, the third U.S. President, will almost always be known for signing the Louisiana Purchase, which at the time more than doubled the size of the U.S.
Abraham Lincoln, the 16th U.S. President, was in leadership during the time of the Civil War. He successfully held the union together and announced the Emancipation Proclamation which freed all slaves
Both Stanton and Anthony were significant in leading the fight of Women's Suffrage. Furthermore, they also had their hand in Civil Rights conflicts and are forever known for their stances in adversity
Uniquely enough, Mr. Owens was an Olympian during the time of Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime. His four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic games denounced the racial injustice of Hitler's government.
Kennedy, beloved by the American public, was the 35th President. Before being assassinated, JFK was a polarizing leader. He was the first president to denounce racism as a moral wrong.
Mr. and Mrs. King are engraved in American society for their push against racial injustice. MLK's famous "I Have a Dream Speech" is called the best address ever known to mankind. Equality thanks him.
Barack Obama became the first African-American elected President during the 2008 election cycle. Many of his policies will be remembered for having been progressive and inclusive of all Americans.
