This masterpiece is an oil on canvas that is about one of 140 pieces done in a snow cap fashion. Monet 's patron, Louis Joachim Gaudibert, provides his family a place to live and between the years of 1868-1869, where he produced The Magpie. This piece is considered to be one of the best and his largest impression pieces that is 89 cm x 130 cm in size. Monet mastered the use of light and color by showing detail in the shadows of this masterpiece.
