Gods of Mankind throughout time

In this exhibition, I have chose the theme of Gods of mankind throughout history. This exhibit will contain paintings and sculptures made by various artist from different eras and countries. I chose this theme because religion is a big part of who I am as a person. I believe religion has shaped cultures, countries, and continues to do so. It makes up a majority of ones choices whether they realize it or not. People have always had Gods that they worshipped and looked unto for guidance of how they were going to live their lives. This exhibition shows several different deities that people have believed in throughout time.

I have selected Jesus Christ based off my own Christian faith. I liked this one because it reminds me of all those that denied him on the Earth, but shows Christ being merciful and offering grace.
I imagine this is what it must have looked like before the crucification of Jesus Christ. The setting looks sad but the people are enjoying it. This painting was a good naturalistic view.
This one was selected because this moment right here is the most critical thing Christ did for everyone. He suffered for all mankind's sins. This painting also is a visual of the verse in the Bible.
This painting was selected because of how accurate Christ looks from the description in the Bible. These paintings remind a Christian what Jesus went through for us. It makes me want to be better.
Hapy was selected because it is a God from a different culture and era. Hapy was considered the god of nourishment and fertility of the land.
I selected Athena because Greek culture fascinates me. Athena was looked to as a sign of power, wisdom, and war. Athena played a role on many different things, but made the greek people feel powerful.
I chose Zeus because He is also a Greek god. Zeus is the king of the gods in Greek culture. He is father to many other gods such as Athena. He was a sign of power and justness. People wanted to please Zeus especially.
I chose the Hindu god Ganesha because I taught a lot of people of the Hindu faith on my mission. This God is unique because they believe Ganesha is the God of new beginnings. (Similarities of the christian faith)
