Searcher, Kim, Myung Sook, 2009, From the collection of: Korean Art Museum Association
I really liked this picture because it has a lot of mystery to it. It is called the Searcher and it looks to me as if it is an owl. I like the dark colors and thought it was an interesting picture.
Thunder Storm on Narragansett Bay, Martin Johnson Heade, 1868, From the collection of: Amon Carter Museum of American Art
The detail in this painting is what drew me in! I have traveled to the west coast a few times and this reminds me of being out there during a bad storm. Even the people standing by the boats have incredible detail.
From series "Hotel rooms", Patricija Jurkšaitytė, 2010, From the collection of: Modern Art Center / Modernaus Meno Centras
This picture is a little different because it is a lot lighter than the other pictures that I posted. I enjoy this one because it draws your eye to the storm outside the doors. The room is so bright and cheerful, but your attention only goes to the dark area.
Boyce, Portrait of a Setter Dog, Thomas Eakins, 1880 - 1890, From the collection of: The J. Paul Getty Museum
I love this picture. I cant tell if it is a painting or if it is a photograph. I work with dogs and long term want to continue to do that. I ran across this and had to save it!
Starry Night, Vincent van Gogh, 1888, From the collection of: Musée d’Orsay, Paris
Starry night is one of my absolute favorite paintings, however I love looking at all the modifications that people have made, and all the different takes on it there are. I liked especially the old couple in this one.
