Life during the depression

The Dust Bowl was a disaster that took place during the 1930's on the Great Plains in the United States. Poor farming practices, severe drought and high winds left much of the farmland unusable. Severe dust storms created blackouts and killed thousands, forcing many families to migrate west.
The new deal are series of domestic programs in the Unites States. The series include both laws passed by Congress as well as presidential executive orders by Roosevelt.
Veterans went to Philadelphia and demanded pay back.Congress overrode President Franklin D. Roosevelt's veto and paid the veterans their bonus nine years early. WWI veterans received a sixty dollar bonus.
The Wagner Act made the federal government the arbiter of employer-employee relations through the creation of the national labor relations board. It is the most important piece of labor legislation enacted in U.S. history.
Social security act is an act to provide for the general welfare by establishing a system of Federal old-age benefits, and by enabling the several States to make more adequate provision for aged persons, blind persons, dependent and crippled children, maternal and child welfare, public health, and the administration of their unemployment compensation laws; to establish a Social Security Board; to raise revenue; and for other purposes.
The Civilian Conservation Corps was a public work relief program in the U.S. for unemployed unmarried men. It eventually expanded to young men 17-28, Robert Fechner was the head of the agency.
