"The Unicorn in Captivity" is one of seven of the "Unicorn Tapestries". This tapestry was sewn in 1495 and was completed in 1505. The unicorn itself is confined to a fenced circle that is small enough for the unicorn to leap over to escape. Red spots around the unicorn's mouth appear to be burst pomegranates from the tree. The symbolism within the tapestry represents fertility and happy marriage.
