Leon Trotsky was the main Bolshevik leader and helped organise the October revolution.He was also the founder and first leader of the notorious Red Army. Furthermore, he joined the Bolsheviks immediately prior to the October revolution.
Lenin's April thesis helped raise the increase in the Bolshevik Central Committee in terms of support. He pressured the Bolsheviks into an uprise which was originally halted by Trotsky.
Joseph Stalin was the editor of the Prava newspaper and was given a seat on the Petrograd Soviet. He was also very close with Lenin and was one of the first on the scene of the October revolution.
