The Dreamer's Playground

Los Angeles is a city of contradictions. It is home to some of the most powerful elites known throughout the world. It is also a sprawling ghetto, claiming the dreams of millions and laying them to waste. The city itself is something of a fairytale; much like the United States as a whole, its appeal is based on an idea, an imagined ideal, rather than what reality should dictate. And that's why I both love (and love to hate) it. Included are photographs of contemporary street art and old Hollywood which I feel exemplify the soul of the city.
