The allure of Depth

Examples of different styles used to create depth in paintings which create the perspective of actually being there for the viewer.

I like the way the earth and sky are separated by the middle of the canvas. It seems these two individuals are the only people on earth for as far as the eye can see.
With objects larger in the front and smaller in the back one gets the feeling they are walking down a hall way when viewing this piece.
Great balance from left to right. The objects in the water create perceived distance.
Interesting how the perspectives change from being above the city in the middle of the page to looking out at a horizon that seems never ending.
Amazing how the field's raised height creates separation from the green rolling hills behind it. The contour of the land on the left creates the depth that appears on the top half of the page
