This is a prime example of celadon jade green pottery.
Notice the top cut-out spaces and the cut leaves below.  This technique is just like you learned in class.  You cut around your leaf shapes after you made a smooth slab.
If you use the zoom feature for this vase, you see that there really is no texture on the surface.  Everything you see is painted onto the surface.  
This piece shows a few indentations/lines/texture similar to what you achieved when you rolled the leaf onto the clay.
