In Islam, it is almost sacrilege to depict the image of God, as this picture appears to.
The written word is very important to Islamic culture, and can be found on the walls and ceilings of mosques, among many other places.
While it isn't technically addressed in the Koran, it is generally frowned upon to depict animals in religious art, or art in religious places.
