Photos and Paintings I would love to see in person.  Places I would love to visit.

The author of this work of art is Santiago Rusino. This work of art was created 1892 in Paris. The style of the work of art is a painting that oil was used on canvas to be created. The subject of the painting is friendship and the struggle of a friend. Santiago Rusino was friends with Ramon Canuda who died in 1892 of tuberculosis. Ramon Canudas was the main character of two portraits in Santiago Rusino's collection. The painting wass created when Canudas's disease was terminal. Rusino beautifully captured the attitude of those who know death is coming. This painting really jumped out at me because I've watched my father go through this state and or stage as well as my husband. It is hard to describe this stage with others. This picture captures that stage spot on.
There are no details for this photo. However, I would love to see or own this painting. If I had to guess I would say this is a painting done on canvas due to the blotches in the paint. The texture of the painting may be canvas because you can actually see the texture of the canvas through the paint. The author truly captures the innocence of this little girl, possibly the area, and the time setting. The creator uses bright color mixed in with soft tones of shading. This picture reminds me of a more peaceful time in the world.
This work of art used photography to capture the everyday lives of allied soldiers in the Panamanian Invasion or Pacific War. The dimensions used in this photo are B/W Negative. This photo was taken by Frank Schershel and published by Time Life. The photographer of this photo shot photos from World War II in Normandy as well. Frank Schershel worked for Time Life Magazine where he was sent to the wars however, what made his paintings unique was they did not include any fighting. This photo captured love, life, and humanity in the time of war. Although, this photo was captured in black and white Schershel has one of the few in color photography from the second World War.
This is a Indian style painting that was painted in Indian. This work of art is based on the most popular theme of Indian romantic art that is the writing of a love letter. The Kangra women is so overwhelmed with her emotions of love for her lover she can barely right it down in a letter. The Kangra women has all the materials she needs to complete her love letter including the help of her helper. The unknown artist of this painting captures 'Love".
This work of art comes to us in the form of a painting. The painting was done by oil on canvas. The style of the painting is German Romans. The creator of the painting is Arnold Bocklin who was a symbolist Swiss painter. Arnold Brocklin created fantasy worlds with fictional characters. The exact theme of the painting is unknown. The suggested inspiration is from the painting portrait of Sir Bryan take in the ALTE Pinakothekin Munich. The painting is a self-portrait where death is playing the violin as death possibly whispers into Arnold Bocklin's ear.The creation story is that Bocklin only added death to his painting after friends asked him what was he listening to in the painting.
This photo of the Great Sphinx was taken by Walter Sanders published by Life and found in the Life Photo Collection. Walter Sanders was a staff member and combat photographer for Life Magazine. Walter Sanders was said to be one of the greatest contributing photographers for Life Magazine by all accounts. This object photo was taken in 1956 in Giza, Egypt and has color transparency as the physical dimension. The subject of Walter Sanders photo is believed to base off of the appearance of a leader who was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh. The statue was built during the reign of King Kafre that was the 4th dynasty of Egypt. The Great Sphinx statue is a national symbol of Ancient Egypt and the first massive royal sculpture in Egypt. The largest and oldest statue has a human head wearing the Nemes headdress of a pharaoh with a lion’s body. The Great Sphinx statue is 240 feet long and 65 feet high. There are many debates about the meaning, the date it was created, and which pharaoh built the statue. Some believe the statue was built the same time as other temples such as mortuary temple or the Khafre temple. Some believe the Sphinx temple that seats in front of the Great Sphinx statue was never used being the construction of the temple was never finished. I would love to see this statue with my own eyes and actually touch it. I love to touch a piece of historical buildings and creations that always leaves me in wonder. Maybe someday I would be able to see this statue in person and begin to make my own assumptions to the creation of the statue.
