Inspiring female portrait of a woman with a rifle.
Pablo Picasso's incredible talent for creating beautiful and intriguing cubist portraits.
I really like the attention to detail in this portrait, done by Jaques-Louis David.
Although he had a sad story, Vincent van Gogh's ability to capture the essence of his personality in his portraits is something that has always captured my interest.
John William Waterhouse is my favourite artist. I get lost in his art, and love the beautiful narratives that his paintings depict. The way waterhouse emulates the forlorn emotion of the Lady of Shalott, shows his ability to be a true master of portraiture.
Controversial portrait of Olympia, by Edouard Manet.
A peculiar and pensive portrait of Paul Guillaume byt Amedeo Modigliani.
One of Frida Kahlo's plethora of self-potrait.
Beautiful Portrait by Edouard Manet.
Beautiful "Beauty" portrait by Athol Shmith.
This work by Albrecht Durer really captures the artist's ability to emulate the personality of his sitter. This portrait in particular seem to be of a stern, wealthy man who is dressed in his best and is uninterested in distraction; he keeps his eye on the target. Durer's life-like approach to painting and dexterity gave his portraits an individualized touch.
Portrait- I really like the delicacy of Rusinol's conte pencil sketch. Although the image is simple, the artist was able to capture such character and evoke such emotion. Beautiful sketch.
