Artworks and symbolism collection 1

The skull is amazing for perspective invention and instruments, such as compass, excite a question: was Hans Holbein the Younger a massone?
This spectacular artwork, affects me especially for the symbolism. Pale Ophelia's face seems to be the climax of light emphasizes the drama. Flowers remind us of her weakness and fragility with their chromatism: red, white and violet. And violet is to me more pregnant; in fact it's the colour of suffering and sacrifice. Red, instead, is love and death, and white in addiction with innocence, means pre-natal life.
